8 Skagway, AK Skagway, AK Full-time Full-time $98,232 - $127,698 a year $98,232 - $127,698 a year 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago Duties This position manages the administrative operations of Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park and the Chilkoot National Historic Trail and is the principal advisor and management consultant to the Superintendent and park management team for administrative matters.
In dealing with the Superintendent, Division Program Managers, and employees of the park, the Administrative Officer builds within the management team and staff an appreciation of the role of administration in accomplishing the mission of the park and a working environment the recognizes administration as a partner in operations, planning, and other programs of the park.
The Administrative Officer is responsible for the park's budget and financial management by keeping the park's revenues and spending in balance through sound advice on a day-to-day basis.
This process includes, but not limited to, establishing or modifying account structures, tracks expenditures and obligations, and continuously reviews accounts to be able to alert managers to problems.
Discusses adjustments in spending and reprogramming with park managers and seeks additional funding for unplanned and unexpected events.
Closes out the park's budget.
Establishes internal control mechanisms to eliminate and prevent fraud waste and abuse.
Other administrative services that this position is responsible for includes payroll and timekeeping, bills for collection, payment of invoices, internal controls and audits, travel, planning activities, human resource management, acquisition and property management, agreements, housing, information technology, fee management, commercial services, leasing and FOIA.
The Administrative Officer supervises the business management/administration staff of the park.
These duties include recruitment and hiring, directing work, reviewing work and providing feedback, training and development of staff, evaluating work performance and taking action to deal with inadequate performance, resolving staff complaints, integrating activities into the overall park programs, and responsible for employee safety and promotion of the park's Safety, Health and Wellness Programs.

Experience:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service such as budget and financial management, property, contracting and procurement, management analysis, human resources management, or support services.
